MOUNT PLEASANT — A man whose body was found Monday night at a marina in Charleston Harbor jumped from the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge on Sunday, officials said.

Charleston County Deputy Coroner Kelly Myers identified him as Travis Myers, 55, of downtown Charleston. His vehicle was towed from the bridge Sunday morning, the deputy coroner said.

Shortly before 9 p.m. Monday, a teenage couple spotted the body near the end of a dock at Charleston Harbor Resort Marina on Patriots Point Road. They told a man on a nearby boat about the find and asked him to call police, a police report said.

Authorities found Travis Myers fully clothed in the water. He was dead when they arrived, police states.

Two other men jumped from the bridge last month.

On May 25, the U.S. Coast Guard pulled a man from the water after he plunged to his death about 11 p.m. Another man jumped from the bridge the night of May 19.

One jumper was reported in 2008 and one in 2007. Two people jumped from the bridge in 2006.

All but one died.

At 200 feet, the Ravenel bridge is the tallest in the Lowcountry. The 3.5-mile long span opened to traffic on July 16, 2005.
