The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office has released more details on a Berkeley County motel robbery that was reported Tuesday.

Two men held up the Days Inn Goose Creek at 1430 Redbank Road about 7 a.m. Tuesday, although they didn’t get any money, according to the incident report.

The motel is just outside the Goose Creek city limits, near Henry Brown Boulevard.

A night clerk told deputies she was in a back room getting ready to leave for the day when a man wearing all black clothing, his face covered by a bandana and holding a black semiautomatic handgun, came into the room and told her to take him to the register. She told him there was no register.

The gunman escorted her to the main lobby, where a second man with a bandana over his face was waiting. The clerk also told that man there was no register.

A coworker who had gone outside to the mailbox was walking toward the entrance about then. She saw the men inside and ran the other way toward a day care center across the street, according to the report. One of the men inside then said, “Let’s go,” and they both ran out the door toward the trees in the rear of the building.

Investigators processed the entrance door and plastic fence posts in the rear for fingerprints and found none, according to the report. Extra patrols of the area didn’t turn up anything. Investigators planned to get a copy of the surveillance video from Days Inn when the recording was completed.

One of the men is described as black, 5 feet 6 to 8 inches tall, slender, wearing black jeans, black shirt, gloves and a bandana over his face.

The other is described as black, 5 feet 4 to 6 inches tall, stout, wearing black jeans and white T-shirt, gloves and a bandana over his face.
