Lowcountry officials are starting to announce their remembrance ceremonies for the upcoming 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks.

In a North Charleston event announced Thursday, public safety representatives and military personnel will hold a memorial service at 10 a.m. Sept. 9 in the North Charleston Performing Arts Center.

It will be hosted by local first responders, Charleston Air Force Base officials, the Charleston Fire Chiefs' Association, the S.C. Highway Patrol, the Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy and others.

The public is invited to attend. There is no cost for admission or for parking.
