North Charleston police searching for armed robbery suspect

North Charleston police are searching for an armed man that robbed a CVS Pharmacy on Ashley Phosphate Rd. today. This screen capture shows the suspect entering the store.

North Charleston police are searching for an armed man who robbed a CVS Pharmacy today, police spokesman Spencer Pryor said.

Employees told police a man with what looked like black shoe polish covering his face and hands entered the store, at 5215 Ashley Phosphate Road, about 3:30 a.m. and demanded Oxycodone from its pharmacy.

The pharmacist reportedly complied and the man, armed with a pocket knife, fled the scene.

The suspect was described as a white man, 25 to 35 years old, 6 feet, 1 inch tall and 180 to 200 pounds.

The suspect reportedly wore a long sleeved blue shirt, tan or brown pants and a tan or brown hat.
