A North Charleston man has been sentenced to more than 12 years in prison for gun and crack cocaine charges.

Ephesian Brown, 33, was sentenced in federal court in Charleston last week for being a felon in possession of a weapon and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine. Chief U.S. District Judge David C. Norton sentenced Brown to 151 months.

Evidence at his change of plea hearing showed Brown fled from the front porch of a residence as North Charleston Police arrived to execute a search warrant.

After a brief foot pursuit, Brown was detained. He was found with a loaded magazine and more than 3 grams of crack, while the handgun for the magazine was found nearby in Brown's flight path.
