North Charleston police are searching for an armed man who robbed a Circle K on Sunday morning, spokesman Spencer Pryor said.

The suspect entered the store at 8410 Dorchester Road shortly before 5 a.m., an incident report stated.

The store’s clerk told police the man threatened to shoot her if she didn’t give him the money from two registers.

The suspect also dumped Newport cigarettes and the woman’s purse into a dark blue duffle bag with grey handles, according to the report.

The man fled the scene through a parking lot in front of the store.

Surveillance tapes suggest the suspect is a white man, about 6 feet tall who weighs about 180 pounds. The man wore a grey or green oversized shirt, black pants, black shoes, a black ski mask, a dark colored beanie and dark colored gloves, the report states.

The suspect got away with about $50 from the two registers, cigarettes and the clerk’s purse containing a cell phone, wallet, debit card and identification.
