S.C. Department of Transportation crews will shut down Interstate 26 for several upcoming nights as part of an ongoing construction project.

Crews will be placing steel girders over I-26 for a future ramp from the freeway's eastbound lanes onto Meeting Street, according to a statement by the department.

"Because this girder placement is a complicated endeavor, it will take place over several nights," the statement said. "This work is subject to change due to weather conditions."

Work is slated to happen on four upcoming nights.

Sunday:
