Two men have been arrested in a double shooting in Colleton County.
Officials also have released the name of the woman who died after being shot Saturday.
Ra'Sheen La'Quan Walters, 18, of 313 Sprucewood Drive in Summerville was arrested Sunday morning and charged with murder, attempted murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, Colleton County Chief Deputy Ted Stanfield said.
Andre Nicholas Crawford, 18, of 104 Crawford Lane in Cottageville turned himself in later Sunday and faces the same charges, Stanfield said.
The woman who died is Jessica G. Judge, 22, of 4976 Wescott Blvd. in Summerville, Stanfield said.
Walters and Crawford are accused of shooting Judge and a 16-year-old Ladson boy around 4:30 p.m. Saturday while they were sitting in a car near Old Fox Cemetery Road and Jacksonboro Road in the Cottageville area.
Judge was able to drive to a nearby house, where residents called for help, Stanfield said. She was no longer breathing by the time paramedics arrived, Colleton County Fire and Rescue Director Barry McRoy said. Medics performed CPR until they got her to Colleton Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
The young man was shot several times in the head and neck and was taken to Medical University Hospital's trauma unit in critical condition, McRoy said. He remained hospitalized in serious condition Sunday, Stanfield said.
The shooting remains under investigation, and officials were not able to say whether it's related to the wave of gang violence that's been troubling Colleton County the past several months.
