MOUNT PLEASANT -- Two men were arrested Thursday in connection with a June restaurant robbery.

Joseph Whiteside Jr., 27, of U.S. Highway 17, Awendaw, and Kien Williams Jr., 20, of Isle Circle, North Charleston, each have been charged with one count of armed robbery, according to the Charleston County Sheriff's Office.

They were being held in the county jail Friday. Bail was set at $50,000 for each man.

According to affidavits, two suspects wearing masks and brandishing handguns entered a rear door of the 17 North Roadside Kitchen, 3563 U.S. Highway 17, on June 27.

They ordered, at gunpoint, employees to lie on the floor and one employee to open the safe. They grabbed the money and fled.
