Family members who are the primary caregivers for students are invited to a community meeting on Friday to talk about what can be done locally and statewide to improve the lives of their children and families.

The Generations United Family Gathering will be held at Malcolm C. Hursey Elementary School, 4542 Simms St., on May 4 from 8a.m. to 9:30a.m.

Grandparents, senior citizens, kinship care providers, community members, organizations and local legislators have been invited. Anyone who is not a certified foster parent but raising a child is invited to attend.
