A shorthanded College of Charleston team managed to hold off Western Carolina for a 62-58 victory Thursday at TD Arena.

With Trent Wiedeman not dressing because of an ankle injury and Matt Sundberg out for the final 20 minutes, also with an ankle injury, the Cougars got a standout performance from sophomore Nori Johnson who finished with 17 points and freshman Adjehi Baru who collected 17 rebounds and contributed nine points.

The Cougars, 15-10 and 7-7 in the Southern Conference, played Davidson at 3 p.m. Saturday. Western Carolina fell to 10-16, 4-9.
