Man, woman held in Mount Pleasant robberies

A man and a woman were arrested by Mount Pleasant police Thursday on armed robbery charges. Additionally, the man is accused of calling in a bomb scare to a middle school.

Samaryer Asha Sanders, 24, of North Romney Street, Charleston, and Richard Allen Manigault, 23, of Von Kolnitz Boulevard, Mount Pleasant, are each charged with two counts of armed robbery, according to a news release from the police department.

They are accused of robbing the Palmetto Heritage Bank & Trust branch office at 3102 U.S. Highway 17 North on May 10 and the Cricket phone store at 1220 Ben Sawyer Blvd. on April 19.

Manigault also is charged with phoning in a bomb threat to Moultrie Middle School on May 10.

They were being held in the Cannon Detention Center. At a bond hearing Thursday, Charleston County Magistrate Alvin Bligen set bail for Sanders at $300,000 and for Manigault at $600,000.
