Authorities arrested two Summerville residents last week after undercover narcotics agents said the pair were trying to deliver 37 pounds of marijuana.
Agents from the Summerville Police Department and from the Sheriffs Offices of Dorchester and Lexington counties were staking out a house on Eagle Drive in Summerville on Friday when they saw a woman carrying a package leave the house accompanied by a man.
Agents stopped the woman in her car and recovered the package that contained 37 pounds of marijuana, said Capt. Jimmy Nettles of the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office.
The man also had a small amount of marijuana on him, Nettles said.
Authorities charged Alexandria Denise Walker, 21, of Summerville with trafficking marijuana. She received $10,000 bail.
Police also charged Devan Antwan Rivers, 24, of Summerville with possession of marijuana. He received bail of $570.
