Man with knife robs title loan company

GOOSE CREEK -- A man armed with what looked like a large kitchen knife took cash from a lending business Tuesday, police said.

The robber entered Carolina Title Loan at 201 S. Goose Creek Blvd. about 5:30 p.m., displayed the knife and helped himself to the cash-register contents. He left on foot, and police efforts to follow him using tracking dogs were unsuccessful, Sgt. William Ramirez said.

Ramirez said the robber grabbed the cash drawer, but left it after scooping up "whatever he could carry in his hands." An undetermined amount of cash was taken, he said.

The robber was described as black, young looking, about 6 feet tall and wearing dark jeans and a dark shirt, Ramirez said.
