A 19-year-old man was shot Friday night outside a nightclub in an unincorporated area near Midland Park road, authorities said.

About 8:20 p.m., the Charleston County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to Roper Hospital's urgent care annex on Northwoods Boulevard for a report of a shooting victim, according to an incident report.

The man, a Midland Park Road resident, had been shot in the leg, the report said. He was unable to tell deputies where the shooting took place and did not provide a description of whoever shot him.

According to the report, the man knocked on the door of a house on Townsend Road and asked for help. A woman who lives at the house drove him to Roper Northwoods, the report said.

The woman said she had never seen the man before. He was later taken to Medical University Hospital for treatment.

Deputies later pinpointed the location of the shooting as the Rock Club at 2232 Kimbell Road, the report said. Kimbell Road is in a neighborhood off Midland Park Road between Rivers Avenue and Interstate 26.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Charleston County Sheriff's Office at 202-1700 or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
