The body of a man was found lying on a log on Folly Beach over the weekend.

The man, who has not been identified yet by the Charleston County Coroner, was found by a husband and wife who were taking a walk on the beach on Sunday morning at 605 East Arctic Ave.

The man who found the body told police they thought he was intoxicated when they tried to wake him up, according to an incident report.

When Folly Beach Public Safety officers arrived they found the man pale and blue and not breathing, the report stated. A puddle of dried red fluid was also coming from the man’s mouth and pooled under his head, police said.

He was pronounced dead on the scene. It is being investigated as a suspicious death, according to the report.
