A man jumped over the counter at the Bank of America at 540 Folly Road on Friday evening and grabbed money from cash drawers, authorities said.

The man was either white or a very fair-skinned black man, according to Charleston Police spokesman Charles Francis. The suspect is between 5 feet 7 and 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs between 170 and 190 pounds.

He was wearing a white T-shirt, dark jeans, work boots, a dark bandanna around his face and a dark N.Y. Yankees skull cap, Francis said.

The suspect didn't produce a weapon and didn't imply that he was armed, Francis said. It was near 6 p.m., and there were only bank employees inside the business. Nobody was injured, he said.

Charleston County sheriff's deputies and K-9 units also were on the scene to assist Charleston police.

Anyone with information about the robbery should call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111 or the Charleston Police Department at 577-7434.
