LADSON — Charleston County sheriff's deputies are investigating several shootings, one of them a homicide, in a neighborhood off U.S. Highway 78.

After 6 p.m. Nov. 23, deputies responded to the report of gunfire on Garwood Drive near Hardwood Street in Woodside Manor. They found a man suffering multiple gunshot wounds inside a home. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has not yet identified the victim.

Around 1 a.m. that day, deputies had responded to another home on Garwood Drive that had been struck by gunfire, said Andrew Knapp, spokesman for the Charleston County Sheriff's Office.

No one was injured in that shooting, and those in the home would not cooperate with investigators, Knapp said.

"No arrests have been made in either incident," Knapp said. "Detectives are continuing to investigate to determine what led to the shootings and whether there is a connection."

The Sheriff's Office asks that anyone with information about the shootings to contact detectives at 843-202-1700. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111.
