A 23-year-old North Charleston man was sentenced in federal court Tuesday to 15 years in prison and three years of supervised release for being a felon in possession of firearms.
North Charleston police tried to stop Jarod A. Brown on Interstate 26 in August 2010. After a car chase, Brown ran into the St. Charles Place apartment complex, where officers found him in his girlfriend's apartment, lying on a bed with two handguns under the mattress, officials said.
Authorities said Brown's prior record includes convictions for possession with intent to distribute illegal drugs, unlawful carrying of a weapon and assault with intent to kill.
