GOOSE CREEK -- A 32-year-old man has been charged with severely wounding a man earlier this month in a shooting outside a nightclub.

Anthony M. Smalls, 32, of 1057 Willowood Ave., Goose Creek, is charged by the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office with attempted murder, possession of firearm or ammunition by a person convicted of violent felony, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Sheriff's spokesman Dan Moon said the shooting victim, Antonio Jamar Miller, 30, of Goose Creek, is recovering from what were life-threatening wounds.

Authorities responded at about 6:30 p.m. Nov. 8 to the parking area at Shady Lady Billiards Lounge on Red Bank Road. Miller, who had been shot several times, was taken to a hospital in a private vehicle before emergency personnel arrived.

Investigators found Miller at Trident Medical Center, where doctors confirmed that he had been shot multiple times in his lower torso and upper legs, police reports said.
