A man badly injured in a wreck on the North Bridge has died of his injuries, Charleston County Deputy Coroner Kimberly Rhoton said.

David Ardrey of Charleston died at 6:57 p.m. Thursday at MUSC from blunt-force trauma, Rhoton said. He was injured in a three-car accident about 8 a.m. Wednesday on the northbound side of the Cosgrove Avenue bridge.

Bianca Sancic, spokeswoman for the North Charleston Fire Department, said three people were taken to the hospital following the accident. No information is available on the survivors' injuries.

Firefighters reported Wednesday that a vehicle had overturned in the middle of the roadway and that they needed about 20 minutes to extricate one person from the vehicle.
