A North Charleston man is accused of shooting at another man outside a nightclub on St. Johns Avenue, according to a police report.

About 1 a.m. Sunday, a man walked toward the door at the Three Dollar Lounge with a shirt covering both of his hands, the report states. A club employee recognized him as the man he had thrown out of the club earlier for starting fights, according to the report. The man revealed he had a handgun, leveled it at the doorman and the two of them struggled. During the struggle, the gun went off. Two club employees knocked the gun out of the man's hand and detained him until police arrived, the report states.

Richard Antwan Grandison, 30, of Sumner Avenue is charged with assault with intent to kill. He was being held in Charleston County jail on $30,000 bail set later Sunday by a magistrate.
