A Wadmalaw Island man drowned in Lake Moultrie on Sunday.
Raymond Stanley, 23, was wading in the lake at Bonneau Beach about 6 p.m. Sunday when he stepped into a hole and went under, Berkeley County Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Salisbury said.
Bystanders were able to find Stanley and pull him to shore. Lake Moultrie Fire Department and Berkeley County EMS started CPR.
Stanley was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Salisbury ruled the death an accidental drowning.
