Sophie Flatt, 10, of the Figure Skating Club of Charleston was a gold medalist at the recent South Atlantic Regional figure skating competition held in Raleigh, N.C. Flatt won the pre-preliminary round and also took first place overall.

Isabel Torres, 11, finished second and won silver in the pre-preliminary round.

In the initial round, Flatt and Torres finished third in their division.

McKenzie Watson, 11, won the initial round but did not skate as well in the pre-preliminaries.

Alyssa Sterneck finished third in her age group in the initial round, Emma Jackson was fifth in the initial round and McKenna Hardy was ninth in the initial round.

Karen Dewade of the Figure Skating Club of Charleston finished third in the adult event.

The Figure Skating Club of Charleston, based out of the Carolina Ice Palace in North Charleston, sent 14 girls to participate in the regional event.
