The Lowcountry Senior Center is seeking entries from visual artists — professional and amateurs — age 50 and older for its Ninth Annual Lowcountry Senior Art Festival.

The festival is set for Sept. 6-29 and is open to South Carolina residents. The Art Festival presents framed artwork and sculptures.

All work must be original, framed and ready for hanging or display. There is an entry fee of $10 per piece of artwork for artists who are members of the Lowcountry Senior Center and $15 per piece of artwork for all nonmembers. Each artist may submit a maximum of two entries. Photography will not be eligible for judging. The entry fee needs to be submitted with the completed entry form by noon Aug. 3.

Artists may offer their submissions for sale. All work offered must be sold as displayed. The Lowcountry Senior Center will receive a 15 percent commission on all sales. All artwork remains on display during the entire festival.

Festival participants are invited to the Art Festival’s opening wine and cheese reception 4-6 p.m. Sept. 6.

Artwork will be judged with prizes awarded as follows: First Prize $75, Second Prize $40, Third Prize $25 and Honorable Mention $10.
