Local civic organization hosts golf tournament

The lunch Rotary Club of Summerville recently hosted its annual golf tournament at Coosaw Creek Country Club. The tournament had 31 teams and 49 sponsors.

The revenue generated from the tournament will benefit Children in Crisis and Summerville Meals on Wheels.

Children in Crisis in Dorchester County Inc. is a nonprofit organization serving abused and neglected children and their families from Dorchester County and parts of Berkeley and Charleston counties. The center provides a coordinated, evidence-based response to child abuse that seeks to reduce trauma and provide treatment for the children and families in the community in a safe, child-focused environment.

The Meals On Wheels Association of America is the oldest and largest organization in the United States representing those who offer meal services to people in need.
