Early Literacy Station (all ages): Through April 30. Visit the Early Literacy Station for a fun activity based on the South Carolina Day-by-Day Family Literacy Activity Calendar. The theme for April is “reading.” Enter for a chance to win an S.C. Day-by-Day Calendar. A winner will be drawn on April 30.

Saul Alexander Gallery Exhibit: Through April 30. Melissa Gravano has titled her pen, pencil and watercolor exhibit “Low Country Faces/Low Country Livin.”

Mystery Mondays (all ages): April 30, all day. Solve the mystery and win a prize.

Fact Finder Fridays: April 27, all day. How well do you know the library? Test your knowledge and win a prize.

Scrambled Saturdays (all ages): April 28, all day. Find the missing letters hidden in the Children’s Room. Unscramble the phrase to win a prize.

The Artsy Smartsy Club: Earth Tales (ages 6-11): 3:30 p.m. April 26. Listen to the exciting tale of the Grumpy Gecko and then plant your own tomato plant as you embark on a Balinese cultural adventure.

Met Opera: “Manon”: 12:30 p.m. April 28. Runtime: 4 hours. Auditorium will open 90 minutes early, at which point seats may be reserved.

Homeschoolers Unite: (All ages): 2 p.m. April 26. This year marks a century since the Titanic sank. Join Mr. Zack for interesting facts and activities about this tragic event in American history.

Aerobics Dance Class (adults): 10 a.m. April 28. Sasha Vargas-Fimiani of the Charleston County Consolidated Dispatch Center will teach a fun dance aerobic class featuring music from around the world. Bring a water bottle and towel and wear comfortable shoes.

SC Help: Mortgage and foreclosure assistance: 1-4 p.m. April 28. In recognition of MoneySmart Week at the library, come and learn how to avoid foreclosure on your home. A South Carolina Homeownership and Employment Lending Program approved housing counselor will guide you through the process of saving your home.
