Charleston is a model of historic preservation with more than 3,000 historic buildings. Trident Technical College's new continuing education course, Historic Structures and Energy Efficiency, addresses the needs of historic buildings.

The course will meet 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on Nov. 7-16 at the Main Campus in North Charleston. The cost is $599. Topics include how to weatherize and maintain historic structures in a hot and humid climate, historic preservation, regulations, historic construction types, building science, mechanic systems, blower door operation and combustion appliance safety.
