Ashley Ridge High to host SwampFest

Ashley Ridge High School will host its third annual SwampFest on April 29.

The event invites special needs students from across Dorchester District 2 to enjoy a field day featuring modified sports, games, arts and crafts and other activities inside the school's football stadium.

Participating students, ranging in ages from 5 to 21, teachers and parents are encouraged to take part. Local business and organizations also are invited to join in to help sponsor the event in the way of a monetary or in-kind contributions.

SwampFest needs help covering expenses such as transportation, T-shirts, prizes, food and drinks for the 150 students expected to take participate.

Dorchester First Steps to hold board meeting

The Dorchester County First Steps Partnership Board encourages the public to attend the Partnership Board Meeting at 6 p.m. April 26 in the Summerville Library at 76 Old Trolley Road.
