Equestrians capture title

Charleston area middle and high school students involved in the Storybook Farm Riding Teams competed locally and regionally before attending the Interscholastic Equestrian Association National Finals in Syracuse, N.Y.

Storybook’s IEA Middle School Team took the highest team honor out of 19 middle schools, winning the IEA Hunt Seat Middle School National Championship. Storybook’s IEA High School team placed sixth among 19 teams.

Storybook Farm is owned and operated by Bob and Alicia Story and has been home to the College of Charleston Equestrian team since 1983.

Annie Walters of Mount Pleasant placed fourth in Varsity Open Fences & Flat Team and seventh in Varsity Open Fences Individual. Brett Tennison, Mount Pleasant, seventh in Varsity Intermediate Flat Team. Natalie Thorpe, Mount Pleasant, fourth in Varsity Intermediate Fences Team. Addie Ledbetter, Ladson, competed in JV Novice Flat Team. Matt Drummond, Mount Pleasant, eighth in JV Beginner Fences Team. Charlotte Pinckney, Ridgeland, fourth in JV Beginner Flat Team.
