The Palms of Mount Pleasant hosts a support group for those affected by Alz-heimer’s disease and other dementias.

The group provides support and encouragement for those who have been diagnosed with memory loss themselves, their caregivers, and their family and friends. The group is open for anyone interested in learning more about dementia and/or in search of a support network.

The group meets the first and third Monday of every month from 1-2 p.m. in The Palms’ private dining room.

The Bereaved Parents of the USA support group meets at 7 p.m. the second Monday of each month at North Charleston City Hall, I-26 at Montague Avenue.

The group is a national self-help organization that offers support, care and compassion for bereaved parents, siblings and grandparents after the death of a child.

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is the popular name for TOPS Club, an international, nonprofit, weight-loss support and wellness education group.

TOPS provides members with information, motivation and fellowship in attaining and maintaining weight-loss goals. TOPS helps people meet their individual needs through group support.

The group meets Thursdays from 6:30-7 p.m. for weigh-in; the meeting is 7-8 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 604 Pitt St., Mount Pleasant.

The Low Country Myasthenia Gravis Support Group meets 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on the third Saturday of each month at the East Cooper Medical Center, 2000 Hospital Drive, Mount Pleasant.

Meetings are free and open to people who have been affected by MG and are interested in discussing the neuromuscular disorder, sharing experiences and receiving support from fellow attendees.
