A Community Day in Cross includes a free meal and full lineup of art and information.

It’s set for noon-6 p.m. June 23 at the park at Spiers Landing. Masonic Jehovah Lodge 351 and the Order of the Eastern Star Jehovah Chapter 203 will provide the food.

Carrie Gilliard of the Cross Community Council for the Arts will talk about the new arts program, and local artists will display their works. Arts and crafts vendors can set up tables for $10. No food will be sold.

An NAACP representative will register voters and talk about voting rights and voter fraud, according to publicity for the event.

A Community Crime Watch representative will talk about crimes and other activities in the community.

A medical professional will check blood pressure and give out information about diabetes, hypertension and stroke.

A representative of the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office will give parents free fingerprint kits and answer questions about crime and safety.

A representative of the Department of Natural Resources will talk about hunting, boating and fishing safety.

An Army representative will oversee a football and basketball toss and make dog tags for kids.
