Swim Lessons: American Red Cross 2011 "Learn to Swim" classes are being offered at all city of Charleston pools. All classes are first come, first served. Fees: parent-tot $15 ($25 nonresidents); youth $20 ($30 nonresidents); adult $25 ($35 nonresidents). Makeup classes will be held Friday and/or Saturday as needed.
Gardening Class: James Island Recreation Complex. Learn how and when to plant favorite flowers, trees, plants and shrubs. Hyam's Garden Center staff will teach this class. $10/class includes supplies. The class is offered the first Wednesday of the month. Call 795-5678.

Courting Kids Tennis Program: This entry-level children's program provides youths ages 5-17 with tennis instruction on the Charleston Peninsula, West Ashley and Johns Island. The cost per child per session is $10 for city of Charleston residents, $25 for nonresidents. Fall Session 2 is 10-11:30 a.m. Saturdays at the Alan Fleming Tennis Complex (Johns Island). "Little Crafty" Youth Craft Fair: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec. 3 at James Island Recreation Complex. Booth registrations due by Nov. 26. Young local artists ages 18 and under have an opportunity to sell their art. Reserve a booth at the "Little Crafty" Youth Art Fair.
Swing Dancing: Charleston Swing Dance Association's weekly Saturday night dance. Celebrate the music that comes alive through the Charleston Dance, Lindy Hop, Balboa, Blues Dancing, East Coast Swing and a variety of group dances. Open to adults of all ages.
