Maher award

Dillon Inabinett of Charleston, a senior mechanical engineering student at the University of South Carolina, has won the Robert Maher Me- morial Scholarship for 2011. He will receive $5,000 to help finance his education.

The award is made possible by Savannah River Remediation, the liquid waste contractor at the Savannah River Site. The scholarship honors the memory of Maher, a manager who served SRS for 48 years.

Two students with local connections recently made the dean's list for the spring 2011 semester at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa.

--Marie L. Chardon of Glen Allen, Va., daughter of Sallie Shepherd of Glen Allen, and Marc Chardon and Marnie Ross of Charleston.

--Timothy L. Stark of Mount Pleasant, a son of Charles and Jennifer Stark.

Dean's list students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Brittany Delipoglou of Charleston was named to the dean's list for spring 2011 at Columbia College Chicago. Dean's list students must have a 3.75 grade-point average or above.
