A Ladson woman who troopers said was traveling the wrong way on Interstate 26 was forced off the road in the Columbia area Wednesday.
Vanessa H. Clark, 25, is believed to have entered the interstate highway about 5 a.m. in Lexington County. She is charged with driving under the influence, according to the State newspaper.
Before being stopped, Clark ran another vehicle off the roadway at the 102 mile marker and continued driving, according to the patrol.
The patrol said numerous callers reported a car going the wrong way in the westbound lanes of I-26. Responding to the call, a trooper found Clark's car, but she did not respond to his commands to stop. The trooper pushed the car into the center median wall near the St. Andrews exit, the patrol said.
