North Charleston police say a man with a knife robbed a Dollar General on Friday morning.

The robbery happened about 6:45 a.m. at the store at 2080 Northbrook Blvd. The suspect reportedly had a knife, according to Spencer Pryor, public information officer for North Charleston police.

The victim told police she was handling the bank deposit for the business when the suspect rushed inside, grabbed the deposit and walked out of the store toward Rivers Avenue.

The suspect is described as a black male about 5-foot-8 with a slender build, according to police radio traffic.

Pryor said the man wore a gray hooded sweatshirt, black shorts and black shoes. His face was covered with a white bandanna.
