The Coast Guard and a good Samaritan rescued a 35-year-old kayaker stranded near the Cooper River on Saturday afternoon, according to a news release.
No injuries were reported.
It is unclear how the man got stranded.
The Coast Guard was notified just after 1 p.m., Saturday that the kayaker had beached his boat on an inaccessible island near Clouter Creek on the Cooper River, according to the release.
The Coast Guard deployed a 25-foot rescue boat and launched a helicopter to the island.
A good Samaritan with a flat- bottom boat assisted.
The crews brought the kayaker ashore.
