One of the five people injured Monday in a three-vehicle collision on Interstate 26 has died from her injuries, authorities said.

Sherrie Wright, 46, of Hollywood, died at Medical University Hospital about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, Charleston County Deputy Coroner Dottie Lindsay said.

About 3:30 p.m. Monday, a tractor-trailer swerved to avoid hitting a car in front of it, clipped a sport-utility vehicle, landed on its side and skidded into a disabled car, said Lance Cpl. Bob Beres of the S.C. Highway Patrol. Wright was a passenger in the disabled car.

Information on the condition of the four other people injured in the wreck was unavailable. The driver of the tractor-trailer was charged with driving too fast for conditions.
