Davidson, N.C. -- After trading victories through the first six bouts, The Citadel wrestling team captured the final four matches for a 31-12 Southern Conference victory over Davidson on Saturday.
The Bulldogs (7-8, 3-2 SoCon) trailed 9-7, but regained the lead at 157 as Pierre Frazile stopped Dan Hagemann 1:01 into the first period for a 13-9 lead that The Citadel would not relinquish.
Track and field
Charleston Southern's Javon Young was second in the 200 meters at the Tiger Paw Invitational in Clemson in a time of 21.58 seconds. Rozzie Johnson was fourth (21.99). The CSU 4x400 relay team tied for second place with The Citadel at 3:20.48. For the CSU women, Tamisa Johnson was second in the triple jump (11.8 meters).
--The College of Charleston women's distance medley relay team was third at the Tiger Paw Invitational in 12:21.68.
--The Citadel's Brunson Miller was third in the 200 meters (21.75) and Kyle Keene was fourth in the 3000 (8:46.84) at the Tiger Paw Invitational.
Charleston Southern had 14 hits, including a 3-for-5 effort from Jana Matthews, en route to a 12-4, six-inning win over Furman in Game 2 of a doubleheader for a three-game sweep of the Paladins. The Bucs (3-0) won Game 1, 8-0, in five innings.
