A woman died and her husband has been charged with felony DUI after a car flipped over on the Stono River Bridge early Thursday.

Charleston police charged Michael Lee Tupper, 21, of Johns Island with felony DUI and reckless homicide, according to Charles Francis, public information officer. Tiffany Amanda Tupper, 21, died of blunt injuries, said Charleston County Deputy Coroner Bobbi Jo O'Neal.

An incident report said Michael Lee Tupper was the driver of a car that overturned on the bridge while heading toward Johns Island about midnight. Witnesses told police that the car was speeding before it overturned. One witness said she was out with the driver of the car before the wreck and that they had drank alcohol.
