Police reported a shooting and robberies related to Black Friday shopping in Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head Island early Friday.
In Myrtle Beach, a 55-year-old woman was shot and wounded during a robbery that police say was related to Black Friday shopping.
Police say the woman was shot in the foot after two men demanded her purse shortly after 1 a.m. Friday in a parking lot across from a Wal-Mart.
Another woman told police the victim was at the trunk of her car when she heard the victim scream.
The second woman fired several shots in the air, and the suspects ran away with the victim’s purse.
The victim was taken to a local hospital. There was no word on her condition.
In Hilton Head Island, authorities said two Black Friday shoppers were robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot of a shopping center.
The Island Packet of Hilton Head reported that a man and woman were walking back to their car from Wal-Mart around 1:30 a.m. Friday when two men approached them with a gun.
Beaufort County sheriff’s Lt. Matthew Averill said the men made off with about $1,000 in cash and personal items worth $310.
No arrests have been made, and authorities are still investigating.
