A man with a gun held up a North Charleston convenience store Sunday night.

The man entered the Kangaroo Express at 5989 Dorchester Road about 7 p.m. Sunday, went to the lottery ticket station in the back of the store and started writing on a piece of paper, the clerk told North Charleston police.

The man then went up to the counter and showed the clerk a note saying "Give me all the cash," and a black handgun tucked into his pants under his shirt, according to police spokesman Spencer Pryor. The clerk gave the man the money from the register, and the man fled behind the store.

That was all the information that was available Sunday. Police continue to investigate.
