GREENVILLE — A South Carolina man is charged with attempted murder after Greenville County sheriff’s deputies say he fired on them.

Investigators on Monday charged 22-year-old Timothy Keats Hudson with two counts of attempted murder after a standoff around midnight. A jail spokeswoman says he has no attorney listed as representing him.

Sheriff’s Office spokesman Zach Hinton says no one was hurt when Hudson shot at deputies and the officers fired back.

Deputies were called to a home after a hit-and-run traffic accident near Greer. Officers say Hudson came out of the home and fired a rifle at them while yelling for deputies to get on the ground.

Hudson also is charged with using a firearm while under the influence of alcohol. Deputies say he had a blood-alcohol content of .23 percent.
