Daniel Kelley, 33, of Goose Creek died of natural causes, Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury said Sunday.
Kelley was in a single-vehicle wreck Saturday morning.
“I have ruled his death as natural. He had no injuries in the accident that were life-threatening. He did have other medical issues that caused his death,” Salisbury said.
An autopsy was conducted Sunday, he said.
The wreck occurred about 7:30 a.m. near Wassamassaw Lane between Jedburg Road and Cypress Campground Road.
A 1999 Ford Expedition was traveling east on U.S. Highway 176 when the driver ran off the right side of the road and struck a few trees and a brick wall before striking another tree, the Highway Patrol reported.
The driver, who was wearing a seat belt, died at the scene.
