GAFFNEY -- A Gaffney man who said he wanted to give another man a "piece of his mind" is facing an assault charge.
Authorities say 74-year-old Kenneth Gerald Butler has been charged with assault and battery with intent to kill.
The name of the 17-year-old victim has not been released. The teen told police he got out of his car to find out why Butler was tailing him when Butler sped down the road, hit him, then pinned the teen between two vehicles.
Butler told officers the teen passed him, and someone in the car made an obscene gesture.
Butler said he followed the car to give them a "piece of his mind," tried not to hit the teen but couldn't avoid him.
It wasn't known if Butler had an attorney.
