GAFFNEY — Some South Carolina residents remain upset with Bank of America because of a branch that briefly removed small American flags near its sidewalk.
The Gaffney branch replaced them hours later, claiming a misunderstanding with a woman who placed the flags Sept. 15 to honor a slain local Marine.
Since then, the Cherokee County Council voted to close its accounts.
A small protest was held outside the branch last week.
The Herald-Journal of Spartanburg also reported relatives of employees say loved ones are being harassed. Mona Lisa Harrington said workers like her sister feel threatened.
Mona Thomas said people tell her daughter to quit her teller job.
Adam Childers, who organized the protest, said he is upset with corporate offices, not branch workers.
