First Citizens Bank on Meeting Street robbed

This is the man suspected of robbing the First Citizens Bank on Meeting Street Tuesday morning.

A man wearing glasses and a Dale Earnhardt cap robbed a bank in a heavy tourist area in broad daylight Tuesday.

Charleston police said the man didn't show a gun when he robbed the First Citizens Bank at 317 Meeting St., across from Marion Square, about 10:55 a.m.

He took an undisclosed amount of money and ran south on Meeting Street, disappearing into the tourist district, police said.

The man is described as being about 5-foot-3.

He had a cut on one of his arms, spokesman Charles Francis said.
