ST. STEPHEN — The families of a couple killed in a car crash have set up a second fund to help pay for their funeral and support their children.
Anyone wishing to donate to the White Memorial Fund can do so at any Bank of America branch. An account already has been set up by Farmers & Merchants Bank.
Iesha and Michael White died Sunday when their Isuzu Rodeo ran off the side of S.C. Highway 45 in Berkeley County and struck a utility pole. Their 7-year-old son crawled out the back of the truck and then back in to rescue his 6-year-old sister. Their 10-year-old brother was pulled out by firefighters.
Iesha, 28, and Michael, 36, did not have life insurance and did not have insurance on the vehicle, according to family members who are trying to raise money for the funeral.
The children are living with their maternal grandmother.
W.C. Henryhand, owner of Henryhand Funeral Home, said he will be providing the funeral services at a significant discount to help the family. The funeral is set for 2 p.m. Sunday at Timberland High School.
Family members say any donations will go toward the funeral. Anything left over will be distributed among Michael White's seven children.
