Ashley River Creative Arts Elementary School's Parent-Teacher Association recently hosted a night of Bingo as part of their annual fundraising efforts.
Game prizes included two Nintendo DS Lite game systems.
Jayne Ellicott, the creative arts school's principal, pulled the first ticket and read the number.
The winner was 6-year old Aliza Reynolds from Martha Dent's first-grade class.
The principal pulled the second ticket and read the number. The winner was Aliza's older brother, Ben.
"Winning both of them was a real shock and posed many ethical dilemmas," mom Wende Reynolds told a PTA representative. "We saw an opportunity to teach our children an important lesson about our obligation to give as generously as we are given."
The decision was made to give the second game system to the Children's Hospital at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Wende and Ben, a third-grader who is homeschooled, went to the hospital to present the gift for the children receiving treatment there.
