MOUNT PLEASANT — Fighter jets are flying over parts of coastal South Carolina as part of a joint civil and military training exercise.
U.S. Air Force F-16 jets flew Tuesday near the Mount Pleasant Army National Guard Armory as part of a weeklong communications exercise in South Carolina and several other states. The fighters will be seen again Thursday.
The exercise is coordinated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and a joint military command. Organizers said the drill helps test radio, Internet and satellite communications.
